Week 6 Update

Jak się masz? how is everything going? whats going on in the Olympics? anything excting happen? any fires? whats going on With Sports? please someone send me a dear elder update! i heard about AROD that sucks but i heard what we got so thats a plus Ichiro is a stud!

things here have been fun but the same so i am so exctied to get out of here and get to Poland only 3 more weeks! i am getting the language better and better so thats nice :) i have been looking up pictures and stuff on Poland and i cant wait to get there!

the food is slowly getting better but thats because i forgot what a real meal taste like. they try to make biscuts and gravy in the morings and once you have had my nanas.....yeah lets just say theirs is comparable to drinking saliva....its embarassing. everyone says oh this is real southern food, i laugh and go only southern thing about it is that it comes out of the south end of your body. lets just say i hope my family reunion is after i get home so i can have some real good cookin!

Funniest thing happened this week we have a sister going to Poland with us who is probably the Girl version of me. Loves sports tiny and hilarious! we were teasing my companion who thinks he needs to act older than everyone else and claims he is more mature when he acts like a poudy little 5 year old but we were talking about her boyfriend and she is like okay stop what do you guys like..so he chimes in like well i like girls who are mature dont mess around are true to the gospel and are older. so of course me being me i go so the senior missionaries and everyone starts laughing even he did and he goes no but good old Sister Packerd goes oh yeah Elder youd tap that huh! lol he instantly is like wow not missionary approrpriate but shoot me that was hilarious! so thats pretty much our joke now!

gym as always is fun we play soccer which is the only thing besides volleyball but my district likes soccer so we just play that but i get so annoyed with the no hands rule....why cant it just be like rugby? i try to just pick it up but then everyone gets mad!! not my fault that my sport is cooler! its still fun i have 8 goals so far...one of the elders in my district is extremely good he had like...5 goals one game and he doesnt even try because its to easy so i just stand by the goal and he passes it to me so i score, he likes rugby too so we talk about it a lot.

as i said in my last email i love David A Bednar his talks are amazing. i read one this week called Ask in Faith...i think...but it was about how to sincerelly pray. he says that everyone know matter who or whats going on god is alwasy there and here ready to listen. and i can testify to that. God and Jesus love us all so much! he doesnt love one person more than another he is always ready to help him. i have felt his love on my mission throught prayers by him helping me throught the hard times and letting me know through other people that he loves me. i also read his last one from Priesthood session called the Power of heaven i believe(i dont have my notes on me) but he explains what power and authority we have.and i think its this talk he talks about when he was a young bishop he would ask the young married sisters in the ward what he can do to help them and most of them say please help my husband to understand the importance of his priesthood and how and when to use it. the sisters dont mind leading the family home evening but when a priesthood holder is there they should and should show his example to everyone. i am so grateful that i read that! its going to help me become a better a father in the future and a better husband. i say this hoping anyone who is married and is not using the priesthood as they should maybe his words will make you want to. women are so important to me as they are to every man! In Jacob 2: 28-35 it explains how important they are to Heavenly Father. i love you all and miss you tons! i pray for you all everynight! i cant wait to hear from most of you! be safe and have a good week!

Week 5 Update

Hey guys things here at the MTC are really good! I have been running alot and playing lots of soccer and i am not getting fat!!! Yes! The food still makes me sick but they have peaches and peach yogurt so you all already know that i am going to town! Gym has been great as always we play soccer but sometimes i get so feed up with the no hands thing i will just pick it up and drop kick it! people hate guarding me because they think i am to ruff and always go this isnt rugby! but i just laught pansy foot fairies! but soccer is way fun. Polish is starting to get really fun still hard but fun! but the highlight of my week has to be my love for David A Bednar...he is an amazing apostle probably my favorite. i have listen or read so many of his talks this week one of my favorites and it is really popular is the Tender Mercies one. His words are so comforting. he helps us understand that God does love and care about everyone its not just rich people or sick people he is here to help everyone! Believe it or not some people maybe even you some of you reading this think well God doesnt have time for me i will just move on...false!!!! If you sincerly ask God for help and have faith it will happen he can help you! Being obident and praying with a sincre heart can go a long way. and always remember no matter who you are if you feel scared alone lost...you are not alone! such a little phrase is so powerful. i am so grateful for my loving heavenly father!

another talk i read was called How Can i recognize the spirit? yall wanna know his answer? Stop worrying about it! its not important. if your so focused on well did the spirti tell me this or is this just me?? if your thinking that your gonna miss that chance. if you are doing the right stuff being a good boy or girl obeying and being obeident the Holy Ghost will lead you in your everyday life rather you think its him or not. and if you misunderstand it before it gets to bad you will be prompted to stop. he tells of story when he was a Stake Pres. and when they had a leadership meeting his son had a championship basketball game he was missing and one of the leaders at this meeting his son was on the oppisite team he kept having a prompting to leave and go watch the game but he was ignoring it then he looked at his counciler and said can you take over? yes...okay go tell that leader down there to meet me in my office and arrange for his car to be driven home by some one else so all that went down and they met in his office and he said we are missing a bball game lets go! so they did and they all had a great time loved the game. six months later he gets a call from that man and says hey my son is in the hospital and Pres Bednar said i willl be right there he gets there and the man walks up to him crying saying he didnt make it...but i want you to know how grateful i am that we went to that game...i was able to see my son play in that big of a stage i was able to share that with him. a sad story but a strong message its not saying always miss church for sports but if you feel a prompting go for it and see what happens..

i want you all to know i love you and pray for you everynight. i hope to hear from some of you and get a sports update please! lol but i want to leave my testimony for you in Polish....sorry i might spell it wrong but here you go lol

Week 4 Update

So this week has been awesome it cooled down a lot so it wasnt so hot luckily! unfourntaly i feel as if me and my companion took a step back as to being close but i sucked up to him and he likes me again...i think ;) but i am having fun here! i see Elder Emch, Jaussi, and Sanderson all the time which is great oh and Him ding is back! so what happened this week lets see....monday is p day so i slept and a game called hyba ball which means probably in Polish which we called it that just for fun! it involves 3 trash cans a door and a racquet ball its hard to explain but its really fun! tuesday we had class and thats the days we have the guy teacher which i learn more because he is not cute like my other teacher so at times its hard to focus but of cousre i am not here looking for girls lol. but not the guy teacher i have talked to and he understands that i am a slow learner so he works with me extra so my polish is really picking up! Wednesday was a way good spiritual day wow! me and my companion had an awesome lesson and i just kept talking in polish and not even noticing it gift of tongues is true! i am so grateful for it too. thursday was the same but thats when i saw him ding so that was a suprise i just hear this shawn! i am like hey thats my name...i think..and sure enought there is Elder Himmer how awesome is that! friday was the best we are walking to gym and hear this most beautiful sound you can hear...a bounce not just any bounce a loop sided bounce..and at the corner of my eye i see it..a rugby ball! i go flying to it! two elders one from Austraillia and one from new zealand where passing it around and i have to jump in! it was much fun to pass it around for a little while! but unfortunatly they leave tomorrow so i hope my mom( wink wink ) sends me mine! but how is everyone doing? hows home? i miss and think about you all be safe and have fun swimming and going to the lake! love you all! please write or send cookies ;)

Week 3 update

Well this week was fun we are learing cases for the Polish language and its one of the hardest things i have had to do! but i am slowly getting it you know how i am! but i have faith that i will get this language. my home sickness is all gone but still at times its hard like when i have down time so when those times come i pull out the good old PMG and read it! so whats this i hear about ray allen and steve nash are you kidding me??? please someone give me a sports update how are my yankees doing?? whats new with the NFL? the food is getting better because i forgot what good food is! i am meeting so many new people i love it! i have met a rugby player from Australlia who was on their Junior World Cup team before coming into the MTC and i met a Kiwi who is the same they have such strong testimonies it builds mine!
in my class we have two teachers ones name is Brat Hughes ( brother in polish) and Siostra Stay (sister in polish) and i like Brat Hughes more because he teachers so i can understand and always goes out of his way to help because he knows i learn at a slower pace. i do like Siostra Stay but she is really pretty so its hard at times to focus! lol the fourth of july was a little weird we all expected it to be a normal day but they decided to do a devontional and have a asian talk....yeah weird but wow he had a great talk i really enjoyed it and then they allowed us to go outside and watch the fireworks but since me and fellow pole are so little the food dont settle well so we went inside early and stayed inside so no fireworks for me but luckily i went in becasue the others didnt come in till about 1130 so they got 5 hours of sleep and i got like 8 i win!!! i am having a lot of with my district they are awesome guys we play volleyball all the time and sometimes soccer but we play the bulgarians and they are so immature so of course little man tough guy shawn has to stand his ground and push the englishman who thinks he is the greatest soccer player ever which he kinda sucks my little brother AJ is ten times bettter! but its still fun! i am starting to enjoy reading more and more now i love reading the scriptures i have been reading form alma a lot and if you havent read it i totally recommend it!
i just want to bear my testimony that this is the true church and the book of mormon is true if you havent read it you should and after you finish it pray and you will have the greatest feeling i promise!
if anyone wants to send me a rugby ball that would be cool too :) i miss and love you all! please write or dear elder me it would be awesome!

Week 2 update

Anyways this last week got way easier i am not as much homesick through the power of prayer and the process of growing a pair i am pretty much healed besides at night i think of home, but its better than all day! well this last week we started getting into the grove of things and its not to bad we play beach volleyball all the time or bball but one day we played kickball vs bulgaria and i pitched like CC Sabathia and we won! You can call me the Derek Jeter of Kick Ball no big deal ;) but food is gross still it dont settle good at all.....and holy cow we pray like fijians here!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 7 to 8 prayers a day no joke! but hey my wife will be hotter! lol i am so excited for Elder Taylor Jaussi(tag HIm on Facebook) Elder Austin Emch(Tag him on facebook) and Elder Riley Sanderson(tag him on facebook) to come in this week if you guys are reading this dearelder me your times your coming in so i can come say hi! and dont be scared its hard but gets easier. this week though we taught a new investigator and we were supposed to teach her but it got swithced on me and my companion at the last minute so our lesson was wrong but me and my companion took the challange and did our best and taught by the spirte and wow...the spirit was so strong never had a more spiritual experiance on my mission it was awesome! me and my companion are completely different he is more of a schedule lets be mature all the time type guy....yeah you already know i like pissing him off lol but we still do good together and he is a great guy i just hope he thinks the same. i hope to hear from some of you guys my address is
